YES! YES! YES!

SO. MUCH. TO. SAY.

I will admit to having felt frustrated over the last months by President Obama's radio silence regarding the lunacy of those nutjob critics of health care reform. But man, he did us proud tonight, boy whew.

As for South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson's shouting out "Lie!" when Obama stated (truthfully) that his health care plan would not insure illegal immigrants, I'm seriously troubled that such blatant disrespect for a president - who, by all evidence, seems to be making a genuine good faith effort to find a middle ground between the aisles - would find praise anywhere or with anyone. Particularly since Wilson was wrong. By this I mean not only that he needs to get his facts straight, but also that his is the "side" that has generated such public calamity with ACTUAL lies about death panels and socialism.

Even John McCain said Wilson's outburst was "totally disrespectful -- [there's] no place for it in that setting or any other and he should apologize immediately."

And so, less than an hour later...

"This evening I let my emotions get the best of me when listening to the President's remarks regarding the coverage of illegal immigrants in the health care bill. While I disagree with the President's statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the President for this lack of civility." - Rep. Joe Wilson.

Additionally, the non-partisan organization FactCheck.org has debunked the claim that health care reform would mandate coverage for illegal immigrants. See for yourself here.

Whoop whoop!
